Why Ace and What's Our Story?

Well, it's a link back to the time in my life when racing motorbikes was my absolute passion. Nothing helps you appreciate safety more than a regular brush with danger. And there's you thinking that Health and Safety Experts were boring!

For me, the best way to approach Health and Safety at work courses is with a kiss – Keep It Simple! Because life is complicated enough! By making my training accessible and approachable, it means everyone in the workplace can understand it, and will be aware of danger.

TRAINING COURSES

25 years and counting

Not only do my 25 years in the business mean my favourite outfit includes a rather fetching hi-vis vest and a sturdy pair of safety boots. It also means a wealth of experience across retail, warehousing, logistics and manufacturing.

I have a diploma in Health and Safety and a NEBOSH certificate on my office wall as you'd probably expect, and a personal back catalogue of good, bad, and utterly shocking moments of safety stories.

What is the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)?

The HSE sets and enforces regulations to ensure workplaces provide a safe and healthy environment for employees, visitors, and the public. This includes conducting inspections, investigating accidents, and taking enforcement actions when necessary to address breaches of health and safety laws.

What does the HSE mean by a Competent Person?

An employer must get help from a competent person to enable you to meet the requirements of health and safety law. A competent person is someone who has sufficient training and experience or knowledge and other qualities that allow them to assist you properly. The level of competence required will depend on the complexity of the situation and the particular help you need. I can provide just that.
